Personal finance education starts with understanding taxes. CRA's Learn about your taxes online tool offers:
Interactive lesson plans
Short, easy-to-follow videos
These resources walk students through real-life basics like reading a pay stub, filing a tax return, and reviewing a Notice of Assessment.

💰 Plan Ahead: Save for Education with an RESP
Saving for post-secondary education? Open a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) and benefit from:
Tax-deferred growth
Canada Education Savings Grant
Canada Learning Bond
Provincial incentives (if eligible)
Good news! Educational Assistance Payment (EAP) limits have increased:
From $5,000 to $8,000 for full-time students (first 13 weeks)
From $2,500 to $4,000 for part-time students
🍎 Tax Tips for Teachers
Teachers play a vital role — and the CRA recognizes that. Here are two tax breaks designed just for you:
✅ Educator School Supply Tax Credit Claim 25% back on up to $1,000 of eligible school supplies. Just keep your receipts and a signed certificate from your employer.
🚚 Moving Expenses Deduction If you moved 40 km or more closer to a new job, you may be able to claim expenses related to travel, storage, and movers. Keep those receipts and update your address with the CRA once you've settled in.
