As an International Student Studying in Canada, will I Need To Pay Income Tax?

Firstly, we can never be sure if we have to pay income tax until we complete a tax return.

Secondly, we need to determine if you have to file a Canadian income tax return.

Next, We need to determine your residency status, As this tells us if you have income tax requirements in Canada. International students in Canada are considered one of the following:

- resident (includes students who reside in Canada only part of the year)

- non-resident

- Deemed resident

- deemed non-resident

To determine which one you are, we need to look at your residency ties in Canada.
